Female condoms
Female condoms, are also known as ‘femidoms’. They work like the male condom but they fit inside the vagina instead of covering the penis.
If used correctly they are up to 95% effective at preventing pregnancy and they offer good protection against Sexually Transmitted Infections (STIs).
They are made of polyeurothane and are slightly wider than a male condom. They are held in place with a ring that fits inside the vagina. The female condom lines the vagina and the area just outside.
Some people find them harder to use, but this is often just because people are not so familiar with them.
Where to get female condoms
