Where to go

The NHS offers free, friendly and confidential sexual health services from a number of venues across the district.  These offer everything from condoms and emergency contraception to testing and treatment for Sexually Transmitted Infections (STIs) as well as advice and support if you think you are pregnant. 

You can make an appointment to see a doctor or nurse at any of the clinics listed and some offer drop-in sessions too – where you can just turn up to see someone.  The opening hours are varied with evening and weekend appointments on offer at a number of locations. You’ll also find many chemists provide emergency contraception and Chlamydia screening tests too.

The following pages list all the different sexual health services available locally as well as other counselling and support services.  You’ll find info on what they offer, when they are open, what to expect when you visit and how to contact them.
